American Football - "American Football"
I would have never purchased this LP from Gem City Records (before it closed) if it wasn’t for my friend Matt introducing me to Mike Kinsella’s solo effort (Owen).  After my addiction to Owen grew, the next step was attempting to conquer the very short discography of American Football.  Thanks Matt.

Alkaline Trio - "Agony & Irony"
This definitely does not get played as much as my other Alkaline Trio albums.  I honestly would consider it their worst album.  This might sound stupid, but I really enjoyed this album early on and purchased it on a whim.  I am now in a hot pursuit for my more favorite records from this band’s discography.

Alkaline Trio - "Alkaline Trio"
I can’t listen to this album without thinking two things.  My friend Nolan singing the song “My Friend Peter” to me a thousand times.  The second is me trading a Mr. T Experience cd to get this on cd from my brother.  Which I think I gave it back (you’ll have to ask him).  Either way I went out with this in mind to get this on vinyl.  The album cover posted here is from...

Alkaline Trio - "Maybe I'll Catch Fire"
I’ve listened to Alkaline Trio’s song “Radio” probably a hundred times.  I felt so rewarded when I got to hear this album on vinyl.  It comes on an awesome orange LP.  My favorite part: the sides to the recorded are labeled by one or two matches.  So fitting, take a look down below.

Against Me! - "White Crosses"
I remember purchasing this album as soon as it came out while visiting our friend Mitch in Chicago.  I begged my way into visiting one of the Reckless Records stores near by and went on a spree.  I would also like to add the early rumored art work for this album, because I thought it would have been hilarious. So much cooler than Metallica.

Tom Gable - "Heart Burns"
Such a solid EP from the frontman of Against Me!  These songs are a departure for Tom Gable than all the other Against Me! albums.  I love the lyrics on these songs as well.  Really proud that I own this small release from when they were on a major label.

Against Me! - "New Wave"
One of my all time favorite albums.  This was a must own for me, no questions asked.  I bought this while seeing them at Warped Tour and remembering that they wouldn’t be doing things like that much longer because of this album.  I’ve played along to this album a lot on guitar and stared at it’s clear bright yellow LP for hours. I’ve included a link to an amazing video...

Against Me! - "Americans Abroad!!! Against Me!!!...
I starred at this album at the Gem City Records (before they went out of business) for a few months before I purchased it.  Such a cool part of my already massive Against Me! discography. The 2LP has a hand made feel to it considering all cover and sleeves are made of sheet paper instead of the regular cardboard material most albums come in.

Against Me! - "Searching For A Former Clarity"
This was one of the albums that really drew me to Against Me!  It is or was an incredibly hard album to find in record stores.  So I ended up having to buy it from Fat Wreck Chord’s online store.  It’s a double gatefold 2LP.

Against Me! - "As The Eternal Cowboy"
Owning this for the artwork alone is worth it in my opinion (or if you like wasting your money).  This is another Against Me! record that gets a lot of play.  This comes in a very nice double gatefold.

The Avett Brothers - "Emotionalism"
I truly don’t know where I would be if I didn’t find out about this band and album via Matt Campbell.  I recently found this triple gatefold 2LP a couple of months ago at Shake-It Records.  I was in shock, because I was told that it could not be found anymore.  Thank you record store gods.

Avenged Sevenfold - "City Of Evil"
This album is epic.  The band’s performance and sound of this album is so fun to listen to.  The dueling guitars and incredible drums makes this double gatefold 2LP worth the purchase.

Avenged Sevenfold - "Waking The Fallen"
These days owning a record from this band you would be found guilty of something.  But resisting this double gatefold 2LP with grey splatter was proven to be too hard.  I have too much fun listening to this album and the amazing performances from the band not to own it.

The Ataris - "So Long, Astoria"
This great album was already filled with nostalgia, but listening to it on vinyl years later only makes it more enjoyable.  I sadly brag about finding this used at a Half Price Books.  You’ll never know what gems you’ll find I guess.

Arcade Fire - "The Suburbs"
It’s rare that I purchase an album before it’s actually released.  I remember sitting with my friend Darren listening to this before it was out.  Don’t ask me how, but we sat in amazement that afternoon while we starred at this double gatefold 2LP.  Great artwork!

Arcade Fire - "Neon Bible"
I give complete credit to Paul Charles for leading me to this band and album. I am so thankful for that introduction.  WIthout it, I wouldn’t have this amazing double gatefold 2LP with an etched disc.  Take a look at the sweet etching.

Against Me! - "Reinventing Axl Rose"
It’s appropriate that this was the last full length I bought and it was their first.  This tends to be one of the more enjoyable records I listen to from Against Me!  The record is an awesome splatter purple which is always an added bonus.

Kevin Devine - "Make The Clocks Move"
An excellent gift that I purchased for my friend Matt that I ended up receiving as well for xmas unknowingly from my girlfriend Erin.  I was very excited to get my hands on this 2LP reissue with new artwork.  So many great songs and an amazing note from Kevin Devine about releasing and working on the album.  Not to mention the 2 unreleased songs at the end.  Bonus!

Wax Wednesday: Thin Lizzy - "Jailbreak"
I can’t believe it took me until now to pick up an album from this amazing band. This album went down great while sipping on Darby & Joan’s 2008 Chardonnay from South Australia.  An extra addition for this wednesday is the short story included on the back cover that I felt was way too interesting not to post on here and explained that awesome album cover. Enjoy.  “THE...

Wax Wednesday: The Kinks - "One For The Road"
This had such a punk rock start to this live album.  We unfortunately did not get to finish it this week due to breaking the needle after changing the first LP of the two.  We did enjoy the Australian Woop Woop V 2006 a little more this wednesday.

Kanye West - "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"
This is a 3LP that was pre-ordered before its release as a late xmas (‘10) gift from Erin.  It’s an epic album with a wild and creative artwork that can be changed as the cover art.  Listened to this a few times non stop after receiving it.

Previous Wednesday Wax: Fleetwood Mac - "Rumors"
This was the last previous wednesday wax and the 3rd overall.  I’m amazed by how good this album is even though it’s a bit out of my taste at times.  Our choice of wine was Big House’s The Slammer 2006, which is a Central Coast Syrah.

Previous Wednesday Wax: Prince - "1999"
This was the second wednesday wax we ever did.  Oddly enough, this is my first Prince record even though it’s not my favorite.  We enjoyed Bully Hill’s Sweet Walter Red Wine from New York.  A combination of sweet and smooth from my glass and my record player attacked me that night.

Weekly Wednesday Wax Explanation
I figured I should start off my going into further detail about this weekly feature.  I started three weeks ago a tradition of purchasing vinyl from my local record store (Omega Music) and a bottle of wine (5th St Wine & Deli) with my girlfriend.  Each wednesday will be filled with wax and wine.  In order to keep the site updated I figured I would post previous Weekly Wednesday Wax’s...

Previous Wednesday Wax: The Rolling Stones - "Some...
This was the first “Wine, Wax, and Wednesday” (it’s initial name).  This was my first Stones record and a wild one at that.  It was fun to  enjoy the artwork while drinking Root:1’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 from Chile.

The Gaslight Anthem - "The '59 Sound"
Purchased this not too long after it was released.  I had a strong love affair with this album and band in the Summer of ‘08 (and long after that). I love to listen to the sound that was created on this album.  Thought this was a fitting first post.

Introduction: Sorry John Cusack
Pete’s House of Wax (possibly temporary name) is officially open.  It’s purpose to provide an online catalog of my record collection and purchases in the future.  I’m slowly going to be posting past vinyl due to time restraints and the fact that I have too many to do in one sitting.  I will be posting newly purchased records.  This also includes my Weekly Wednesday Wax (more...
